"The work of Barbara Fontana is an extroversive exuberant and critical expression of the female body and its objectification in our times. The decontextualization of nutrition and body fluids and rests is one of the main elements of her performances. I love the way she plays with food and body rests, like hair, nails etc. from an in inappropriate places, in public toilettes to be precise, where a civilized well mannered person shouldn't be naked or misbehaving or eating. I also love the provocation and the, very often, bigot reaction of the unaware public. All in all in believe that her work is very strong and that there is a lot of potential of theoretical and artistic expansion. I believe that the reaction to this provocation can be very different in different places around the world. Berlin, where we worked together, has a much more open society where this type of criticism is long and very well integrated in its culture. I would strongly recommend Barbaras study and performances and i would plead to the continuity and expansion of her work in various social environments."
